I’m currently in Maryville, TN enjoying the Canvas Queen Smoky Mountain Getaway, but also so excited for the fun things March will have to offer. March Topic: Brick Covers
One of my favorite finishes is the humble, but hardworking brick cover.
While stitched flat, the canvas is folded and the sides can work with the top to create a beautiful 3-D scene. Some of my favorites include a koy pond, brownstone, or adorable beach scene.
These brick covers are often converted to door stops or bookends, but I’ve even seen the canvases converted to functional boxes. This month, I’ll show you how to finish these and convert your finished piece from flat canvas to a beautiful functional 3-D piece.

Abby is a Grand-millennial needlepoint designer, painter, and avid stitcher.
Her journey through textiles and design has always sort of intertwined.She found her way to needlepoint through her textile genetics, my graphic design background, and fine arts background. It’s in her wheelhouse!
Her favorite canvases to design, illustrate northeast coastal and southern charm with a tinge of cheekiness—“Oh nauti-nauti!” All of her designs cater to that bespoke nature of needlepoint, making it feel that, that canvas was specially designed, painted, and packaged just for you.
